In Buddy Guy one of the most significant founders of present-day blues is coming to the festival. He is still quite the performer at 79 years of age. It's not for nothing that Guy received a Grammy for his complete works last year and Rolling Stone put him in the top 100 of the most influential guitarists in the world. But Guy is not a man to rest on his laurels. Last year he released the widely acclaimed album Born To Play Guitar, which was nominated for a Grammy. Guy was a protégé of the Chicago blues and together with legends like Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters he was an example for many guitarists in the 1950s. Yet only in the eighties did he truly make his breakthrough. As a special guest he will bring his protégé Quinn Sullivan to the festival. Though Sullivan is only 17, Guy has been working with the young guitar player for about ten years, both in the studio and on stage.
