Four band members, four suits, four moustaches. The humor and attention for detail dealt with, it should be noted that the Rotterdam band Tommy Moustache has been building a reputation lately, and the performance at North Sea Jazz this summer can be seen as another wonderful milestone. Jazz, blues and rock ‘n’ roll all fight for attention in the hyperactive sound of Tommy Moustache. The band describes their instrumental music as ‘zapp jazz’. This invented genre stands for a hyperactive sound with bizarre changes, weird influences and Zappa-like moments. The absurd humor can be found not only in their moustaches, but also in the song titles: Inspector Gadget, Steven Seagal and Krank Im Kopp, to name but three. Some of the band members will not be able to take it easy at the festival: they are also part of the accompanying band of singer Ntjam Rosie.
