Two unique musicians join forces in a special collaboration: Eric Bibb & Habib Koité. Bibb – son of American folksinger Leon Bibb – is a versatile singer-songwriter influenced by blues, gospel and folk. Koité is from Mali and is one of contemporary Africa’s most influential and above all impressive guitarists. The two met ten years ago during the recording of the Putumayo album Mali To Memphis. After just a few chords, notes and songs their friendship was sealed. Brothers in Bamako is the result of a ten-year friendship and a shared love of the blues and Africa. Borders become blurred on the album and the differences between two worlds and cultures fade away. The end product is a passionate and ebullient collection of world-folk-blues songs performed by two exceptional musicians.
