The many-sided career of Richard Galliano has seen many highlights. The French accordionist was inspired by the work of grand master Astor Piazolla who became his good friend. Galliano moved to Paris in the late seventies and he has been building an impressive oeuvre since that time. His international breakthrough came with the album New York Tango. For a long time Galliano performed in a trio with drummer Clarence Penn and bassist Larry Grenadier. Especially his later work can be called innovative; Galliano has had the opportunity to work with soloists like Charlie Haden and Wynton Marsalis. He will bring French guitarist Sylvian Luc to Rotterdam. Luc, who comes from Bayonne, has already worked with legends like Dee Dee Bridgewater, John McLaughlin and Al Di Meola. He recorded the album La Vie En Rose with Galliano last year. It is an harmonious work of art that gives us a taste of the coming performance.
