Singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini (1987) grew up in the Scottish town of Paisley, born to a Scottish mother and Italian father. He was meant to take over his father’s chip shop, but things went a little differently. He started playing on the street and was soon noticed for his powerful voice that combines the rawness of Rod Stewart with the soul of Joe Cocker. In 2006 Nutini released the album These Streets that instantly went to Number 3 on the UK Album Charts. In 2009 its follow-up, Sunny Side Up, went all the way to Number 1. Then a long silent spell followed for the singer. It was even rumored he was hiding on an island in the Caribbean, but in 2014 he returned with the album Caustic Love that proved, according to the BBC, he is ‘arguably Scotland's biggest musician right now.’
