Even before his debut album was on the store shelves, the BBC crowned him Sound of 2012. With his disarming and most of all exceptionally beautiful Home Again (2012), Michael Kiwanuka showed he absolutely deserved this prestigious title. Now, three years later, the British singer-songwriter of Ugandan origin, has come to full maturity. He has already performed at major festivals like North Sea Jazz and Glastonbury, and worked together with Jack White and Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach. The London-based singer, whose sound is compared to soul heroes like Bill Withers and Otis Redding, is currently completing his latest album, that is to appear later this year, and on which he collaborated with creative prodigy Brian Durton (Danger Mouse), among others. Kiwanuka will present new work during his show in Ahoy and of course, every fan of compelling soul-funk will want to attend.
