Collect 25 musicians from six different Congolese bands, with five different ethnic backgrounds, and you have the eclectic Kasaï Allstars. The result is a supergroup without precedent. The music of Kasaï Allstars is powerful, refined, driven and raw. Acoustic instruments blend in with electric guitars and are enriched with distorted kalimba sounds and soulful vocals. Also, the group uses an arsenal of percussion instruments which leads to a real diversity of rhythms. Beware The Fetish is the latest album and it contains stretched and hypnotic songs, emphasizing the wild side of Congo. In a live setting the Kasaï Allstars are guaranteed to give energetic, highly combustible performances. This year the African collective make their debut at the North Sea Jazz Festival.
