The members of this trio come from three countries. Their aim is to conduct a ‘trialogue’ between pianist, keyboardist and samplist Bugge Wesseltoft, bassist Dan Berglund and Henrik Schwarz on computer and percussion. Trialogue is also the name of the album they released in 2014. Jazz innovator Wesseltoft and techno veteran Schwarz had worked together earlier (on the album Duo, for example) and they recently became a trio with the addition of Swedish bassist Berglund, whom we know from the Esbjörn Svensson Trio. Digital electronics, percussion and piano – rich sources for an intriguing collaboration. Berglund’s contribution adds a new dimension to the music as well as expanding the range of opportunities to improvise. Sound magician Bugge Wesseltoft has an unconventional view of jazz which makes him very exciting. In his eclectic, post-modern concept he mixes jazz compositions with an electronic brew of voice sounds, samples and rhythms – the resulting music is gathering more and more fans across the world.
