There are few successful ensembles that have experienced more organic growth than Rebirth Brass Band. Brothers Keith and Philip Frazier formed the band in 1983 as a street orchestra in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Slowly but surely the eight-piece group developed into a live act that floored audiences across the globe. They received a Grammy Award for their album Rebirth Of New Orleans (2011). The secret of these Americans is that they enhance the traditional brass-band sound with modern funk, soul and hip hop elements. The band itself calls this mix ‘junk music’. On stage, Rebirth Brass Band can best be described as a well-organized, tight chaos in which each musician can break loose at any moment. So, loose precision with a twist, that is raw, always innovative and above all, funky.
