When none other than Prince gets involved in the production of your new album, as an artist you can count yourself lucky. And His Royal Badness has actually had a soft spot for R&B singer
Liv Warfield for quite some years. The American singer-songwriter began singing in church choirs and she was later inspired by greats like Etta James and Nina Simone, as well as Tina Turner and Sade. This explains her style that is described as alternative R&B-soul with a pinch of rock ‘n’ roll.
The Unexpected, her second album, was released earlier this year. Warfield has played at the North Sea Jazz Festival before - in Prince’s band during his night concerts in 2011. This year she takes to the stage with the brass section of his band New Power Generation, who also play on her album. A real party for fans of steamy funk, soul and poignant power ballads.
