The Dutch blues, rhythm and roots band
King Of The World has their own unique sound that even the biggest Dutch blues connoisseur Johan Derksen loves. Unsurprisingly, things have moved quickly for this group, which was only formed two years ago. Last year they caused a stir with their first album
Can’t Go Home. One of the most striking members is founder and guitarist Erwin Java, known, among other things, for his work with Cuby & The Blizzards. King Of The World’s blues consists of multi-vocal singing and all kinds of blues variants, right up to New Orleans blues. The band can sound heavy and ruthless, or lazy and drawn out. This spring they released their new album,
KOTW, on which the band sounds even tighter, thanks to their many recent live performances. You can see them at the festival during a dinner concert at the North Sea Jazz Club.
