A few years ago,
Dave Holland embarked on a new musical direction: he formed a group without wind instruments.
PRISM can rightly be called an all-star band:
Craig Taborn on keyboards, guitarist
Kevin Eubanks and drummer
Eric Harland are all artists with great reputations. Bassist Holland has himself performed with giants of jazz music and played on legendary albums. He joined Miles Davis’ group in 1968 and played on classic albums like
In A Silent Way and
Bitches' Brew, which mark the breakthrough of fusion jazz. In PRISM, Holland is reunited with Kevin Eubanks, who played on Holland’s album
Extensions (1989) on the ECM label, but who then disappeared from the jazz stage for a long time when he became bandleader of The Tonight Show Band. The album
PRISM was released in 2013.
