Natalie Cole (1950) may be the child of a legendary artist but her career would undoubtedly have flourished even without the legacy of her father Nat ‘King’ Cole. Having no fewer than nine Grammys to her name is proof of the singer’s impressive talent. At an early age she had hits with songs like
This Will Be,
Inseparable,
Our Love and
I've Got Love On My Mind. Albums like
Natalie, Thankful and
Unpredictable were also early successes. In 1988, Cole switched to a different style with her hit
Pink Cadillac and she afterwards rediscovered the beauty of classic standards with albums like
Stardust and
Still Unforgettable. Her album
Natalie Cole En Español was released quite recently and on it she worked with various artists including Andrea Bocelli and Arturo Sandoval. On
Acércate Más Cole she sings a posthumous duet with her father. The Spanish-language album delivered her three Grammy nominations.
