They’ve all been admired individually at the North Sea Jazz Festival, but they’ve never performed in this lineup before. The quartet that
Manu Katché, Richard Bona, Stefano di Battista and
Eric Legnini formed recently can only be described as an international all-star band. Drummer Manu Katché could justifiably call himself the master of busy flow: the Mohammed Ali of drummers, light-footed with a heavy groove that packs a punch. Qualities that could also be ascribed to Richard Bona. With his bass and voice he blends a wide range of timbres into a hypnotic mix. A unique rhythm section that is completed by an exceptionally melodic duo: saxophonist Stefano de Battista and pianist Eric Legnini. The quartet was specially formed for the Jazz in Marciac festival and, to the delight of their many fans, they decided to stay together and conquer the world.
