The El Cerrito High School Jazz Ensemble is a part of a comprehensive music program that has held a long tradition of musical excellence and award-winning ensembles since the school opened in January of 1941. The program has thrived under the direction of many dedicated directors and is currently under the direction of Keith Johnson. The ECHS Jazz Ensemble has gained wide recognition at jazz festivals throughout the Bay Area in California and won numerous prizes.
