Although OWL Trio is a young American jazz ensemble, its members have known each other for years. Guitarist Lage Lund, saxophonist Will Vinson and bassist Orlando le Fleming are established names on the scene who have now stolen the hearts of many fans of classic jazz trios by combining their talents. The intimate setting paired with their many years of individual experience provides for an extraordinarily sensitive and almost telepathic approach to standards and improvisations alike. The New York-based musicians constantly play with space and freedom which adds an extra dimension to their live performances. OWL Trio continues this trend on their debut album which will be released this summer. The recordings were made in a deserted church in Brooklyn which lends the album that much-desired dreamlike, almost ghostly atmosphere that sets these American artists apart.
