Colin Stetsonhas a solid reputation as a versatile and virtuoso musician. How could it be different when you are invited to perform with, among others, Tom Waits, Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio, Laurie Anderson, David Byrne, LCD Soundsystem, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Anthony Braxton, live and in the studio? Although he can mostly be heard on alto and bass saxophone, Stetson can also be heard playing the French horn, flute and clarinet. In short, he can play most wind instruments. Not surprisingly he has found an international and very diverse audience. After the release of the first part of his New History Warfare series in 2008, his reputation is growing, and Stetson can be found on many New Year's Eve lists, from Village Voice to Pitchfork, Tiny Mix Tapes and SPIN. Recently his New History Warfare Vol.3: To See More Light saw the light of day.
