Imagine being the son of blues legend Muddy Waters. It has never been an obstacle for Mud Morganfield (also known as Muddy Waters Jr.). Just like his father, Morganfield preaches the essence of the Chicago blues in a very charming way. The similarities are striking. Morgan sings with the same gravelly and powerful voice as his father and his guitar playing also shows a remarkable resemblance. Physically, too, Morgan appears to be a reincarnation of Waters Sr. Yet Morganfield has succeeded in developing a unique style. His playing has modern influences and besides playing the classics of his father, he has been able to build up an impressive oeuvre that he can call his own. He will bring a large band to Rotterdam, including famed keyboardist Eric Ranzoni and harmonica player Steve "West" Weston, among others.
