Erdem Helvacioglu is Turkey's leading composer of modern electronic music. His works have been performed across the globe. Per Boysen is an experimental musician from Sweden who works with electronics a lot. In 2010 Helvacioglu and Boysen recorded the album Sub City 2064, the sinister soundtrack of a sci-fi horror film. The album received rave reviews and the following year the duo were invited to perform the album live at the prestigious Présences Électronique festival in Paris. When they perform at North Sea Jazz, bold acoustic improvisations will do battle with inventive electronic sound art. The intention is to transport the audience into a story about a failed experiment with an ecological city that has ended up at the bottom of the ocean.
