Radio discjockey Gerard Ekdom is well-known for his much-varied musical tastes and unequaled knowledge in that area. Besides his radio 3FM programs Effe Ekdom, Ekstra Weekend and Ekdom In De Nacht, this self-professed radio freak has his own spot on Radio 6 with Ekdoms After Dinner Trip, the show in which he plays his favorite soul and jazz records. With his radio shows, Gerard won several awards, among which the Golden Radio Ring for Ekstra Weekend and the Golden Radio Star for Best DJ. Apart from all this, he is also the regular commentator's voice for Dutch television station AVRO.
