Marius Neset is regarded as one of the most talented saxophonists on the jazz scenes of both the country of his birth, Norway, as well as Denmark, where he has lived since 2003. In Copenhagen, the young Neset was taken under the wings of British keyboard player Django Bates, who recognized his talent and asked him to perform with his band. In the past year the rest of Europe has also had the opportunity to meet this promising 25-year-old. His album Golden Xplosion (2011) as well as his performances have been awarded five stars by most critics. Currently, Neset plays a mix of jazz, rock, electronic and classical music, together with Jasper Høiby (bass), Ivo Neame (keyboard) and Anton Eger (drums). In 2011 Neset toured various European stages. This indicates how hard the sax player cum composer is working to become one of the established names on the international circuit.
