George Benson is a musician who seems to know how to re-invent himself time and again. On his latest album, Guitar Man, from 2011, he went back to the classical combination of guitar and vocals. This is the style that made him world famous in 1976 with the classic song Breezin'. In the following years he remained successful with wonderful records like Give Me The Night, which he made with famed producers Tommy LiPuma and Quincy Jones. Benson has always been a productive artist and in 2006, this hard work earned him two Grammy Awards. He received these for the project Givin' It Up, a duo album with singer and contemporary Al Jarreau. The man from Pittsburgh has always been welcomed to the festival with open arms. The excellent keyboard player David Garfield and regular Benson-drummer Oscar Seaton are members of his current band. This lineup will play a series of hits in Rotterdam as well as a short, semi-acoustic set with material from Guitar Man.
