As one of Holland's most famous singers, Trijntje Oosterhuis cannot exactly be called an unknown guest at the North Sea Jazz. She has been on the festival stage many times before, solo, as Burt Bacharach's special guest (2009) and with the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra (2011), the same big band she recorded Sundays In New York with, that was released last year. She is a very productive artist and since that time, Trijntje has already brought out two more albums: at the end of last year her greatest hits compilation We've Only Just Begun was released, and this spring her latest studio album Wrecks We Adore appeared. The latter was made in collaboration with Anouk, the rock singer, who wrote and produced the songs. Oosterhuis enjoys a change of musical scene; she switches with ease from jazz to pure soul or pop and sings her songs equally well in English or in Dutch. This year a new challenge awaits her when she becomes a talent coach in the television program The Voice Of Holland.
