A man who needs no introduction whatsoever, is American Pat Metheny, who is counted among the best jazz guitarists in the world. Not surprisingly the versatile, but most of all progressive artist will be performing at the North Sea Jazz Festival again this year. The 57-year-old guitarist, who has won no fewer than nineteen Grammy Awards throughout his career, will come to Rotterdam with his latest project, Pat Metheny Unity Band. Here, the grand master will be joined by a wonderful lineup including the famed Chris Potter on saxophone, multiple Grammy Award winner Antonio Sanchez on drums and the very talented Ben Williams on bass. A tantalizing challenge for Metheny, who showed he can still be trendsetting and innovative in various areas of the musical scene, as shown by last year's much-acclaimed new age album What's It All About.
