Oguz Büyükberberis mostly known for his unique improvisational language for the bass clarinet, in which he mixes modern and Turkish music with a jazz idiom. Musically speaking he is looking for new ways to integrate live electronics into his playing. Büyükberber is both a visual and a musical artist and he will make use of both art forms during his performances. For the festival Büyükberber invited three great European musicians who have earned their fame in improvisation: Dutch jazz trombonist Wolter Wierbos, saxophonist-clarinetist Tobias Klein (who is originally from Germany but has lived in Amsterdam since 1990) and Russian pianist Simon Nabatov. These four together have formed a unique quartet, in which the wind instruments will take on the piano for an abstract, folk-like chamber music concert.
