The Belgian drummer Tuur Moens (Duffel, 1985) is a wonder of versatility. Whether it is jazz, Latin, funk, pop, fusion or world music, Moens feels at ease with every style and for that reason is in high demand as a session musician. The drummer, who won the prize for Best Student at the Rotterdam Erasmus Jazz Prijs in 2009, has gained the admiration of artists like Ntjam Rosie, State of Monc and Neco Novellas. With his Syndicate(that refers to the high regard he has for the late Joe Zawinul) he emphatically draws everyone's attention to his own capacities; not just as a drummer, but as a composer as well. Last January Tuur Moens & Syndicate released the EP Clockwise, as a prelude to a true debut album. Those who have heard the music are aware of what can be expected: dynamic drums and percussion, energetic horns, and funky guitars and an attractive mix of energy and elegance.
