A shared passion and admiration for the groundbreaking fusion of drummer Tony Williams (1945-1997) and his Lifetime projects is what brought this quartet of stars together. Spectrum Road consists of bassist Jack Bruce (co-founder of Cream, who also participated in Lifetime, together with guitarist John McLaughlin and keyboard player Larry Young and performed on the classic fusion album Turn It Over), guitarist Vernon Reid (front man of Living Colour), keyboard player John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood) and top-of-the-line drummer Cindy Blackman Santana (who has worked with Lenny Kravitz, Joe Henderson, Ron Carter, Bill Laswell and husband Carlos Santana). The quartet debuted at the end of 2008 in the Blue Note Club in Tokyo. Following that performance, they played in New York, San Francisco and Seattle. In 2012, the band released its self-titled debut album. Spectrum Road shows audiences the true meaning of fusion.
