Mujeres de Agua is a project of Spanish producer, guitarist and singer-songwriter Javier Limón (1973). He worked with many great Spanish artists and received several awards for his music. Limón has a great interest in musical traditions. For example, he likes to incorporate flamenco influences into his productions. With Mujeres de Agua he broadened his horizon to include the whole mediterranean region. For his project he worked with a variety of artists, of which he will bring several to North Sea Jazz: Aynur, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Buika, Sandra Carrasco, Montse Cortés and La Shica. Aynur is a young Turkish singer, Arvanitaki a famous Greek chanteuse. Buika, born in Mallorca from African parents, combines Spanish folk poems with latin jazz and performed in Rotterdam last year. Carrasco is a young flamenco singer from Andalusia who flirts with jazz, Cortés more experienced and from Barcelona. La Shica is a flamenco group led by the charismatic singer/dancer Elsa Rovayo.
