Child prodigy James Blake (1988) is already a sensation in Great Britain and is now starting his conquest of the rest of the world. Blake's soulful voice lies at the heart of his music, which is embedded in electronic sound experiments. In his own words, the keyboard player and singer-songwriter makes "emotional dance music". Experts also refer to him as a blues innovator. Ultimately, he sings about the reality of life but in a style that is entirely his own: with loops, delays, strange rhythms and unexpected silences. Blake grew up in north London, the child of artistic parents. He started classical piano lessons at the age of nine and began singing along to his parents' soul albums when he was fifteen. At around the same time he also started improvising on the piano. However, he only became inspired to compose his own music after hearing grime and garage in a London club in 2007. Last winter he released his hypnotic debut album, James Blake, which sounds different every time he plays it live.
