Brazilian Adriana Calcanhotto debuted in the 1980s. The singer was immediately noticed because of her voice, and also because of her completely fresh and natural presentation. In the past she has been compared to Caetano Veloso. Just like her fellow countryman, Calcanhotto is able to reinvent herself continuously. She made her debut as a singer mainly interpreting songs written by others. Later, Calcanhotto developed into an excellent composer. She made her real breakthrough in 2000, with the live album Público. In 2004 she adopted her maiden name again, Adriana Partimpimp, and made a second "debut" with an album filled with children's songs. Calcanhotto's voice is beguiling and she is also a guitarist with a completely unique style.
