Saxophonist Candy Dulfer (1969) was already on stage at age seven with her father, saxophone player Hans Dulfer. She first played at the North Sea Jazz Festival when she was thirteen. At nineteen, she released her first solo album, Saxuality. The recording was nominated for a Grammy Award, and sold over a million copies worldwide. Since the early 1990s, Dulfer has been touring the world virtually without interruption with her band Funky Stuff. They wow audiences in sell-out concerts everywhere from the USA to Russia, as well as across Korea and Japan. Prince, Dave Stewart, Maceo Parker, Chaka Khan, Angie Stone and Solomon Burke are just a few names on the long list of artists with whom Candy Dulfer has worked. After several tours with her famous friends, this year she is performing with her own band again. To North Sea Jazz she's bringing special guest Printz Board, a keyboard player and producer of many hits by, among others, The Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Burt Bacharach - and Candy's latest album Crazy.
