The men from Saravah Soul mix afrobeat and funky funk with a carnival vibe. The seven British and Brazilian musicians look for inspiration in very obscure afrobeat records and Brazilian folklore, and experiment with the original instruments that go with the music. But the band, revolving around Brazilian singer Otto Nascarella, only has one genuine interest: rhythm. On their second album, Cultura Impura from 2010 - that they had to record in only four days, due to visa problems - the group combines Afro-Brazilian rhythms with Ethiopian melodies, afrobeat and old-school soul and funk. Although Saravah Soul emerged from the multicultural London underground movement, their live shows radiate the energy of the Brazilian Mardi Gras. The band enjoys nothing better than a live audience, is constantly on the road and is working hard to become a favorite of all festivals on several continents.
