Almost forty years ago, pianist Chick Corea (1941) entered a studio with his band Return to Forever to record their third album, Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy. The album became especially famous for the high quality of compositions like After the Cosmic Rain and Captain Señor Mouse. Strangely enough, the album was recorded twice, because the original drummer Steve Gadd did not want to go on tour. Lenny White took his place and is a member of the current lineup of Return to Forever along with bassist Stanley Clarke (who was also there back in 1973). Corea: "We'd like to revisit more of that music, but it'll have a new twist. It's a new day." Spectacular musicians like the legendary violinist Jean-Luc Ponty and guitarist Frank Gambale join the band on this occasion. In addition to material from Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy we will also hear new pieces that were specially written for this tour.
