De Concert Big Band of the Amsterdam Conservatory will play The Music of Pat Metheny. Arranger Bob Curnow has made his own interpretation of the music made by the guitar hero that has received no less than 17 Grammy Awards. The result is a splendid program that includes unorthodox pieces and instrumental tour de forces, played by the big band, conducted by Justin DiCioccio, in collaboration with soloist Martijn van Iterson. The latter is one of the most significant Dutch guitarists of this moment. At the 29th edition of the North Sea Jazz Festival, in 2004, Iterson received the Bird Award for "Artist Deserving Wider Recognition" from none other than the very same Pat Metheny.
