For many years now, pianist Ahmad Jamal has been one of the most fanatical touring jazz musicians in the world. He has reached the respectable age of 81 and has been on the stage for over sixty years. The American artist, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is mainly known for the space he creates within his compositions. Miles Davis was a huge fan of his work and in many interviews referred to the influence of the pianist on his own work. In 1951, Jamal made his debut with Ahmad's Blues. He continues to release new work up until the present day. In 2008 he released the album It's Magic. This CD won several prizes and is one of the highlights of the pianist's career. His latest album, A Quiet Time, also received numerous rave reviews.
