The collaboration between rapper Nas and Damian Marley, youngest son of reggae legend Bob Marley, is at least remarkable. The East-Coast rapper is famous for his razor-sharp rhetoric and glitzy glam image. But he's also a cross-over man and evidence of this is his latest solo album, Hip Hop is Dead. Marley has been working on his career from an early age and received a lot of help from his brother Stephen. The album Distant Relatives that Nas released recently, in conjunction with Marley, heralds yet another era. "We didn't want to make something that was typical of either Nas or myself. It had to be something completely new, without sounding too forced." At the North Sea Jazz Festival the duo will present their views before a live audience.
