When these musicians formed a trio several years ago, it felt like a new adventure for them. "This trio has an entirely different lineup to other bands, I thought it would be great to play with just bass and guitar. It will certainly create an intimate, different atmosphere," explains alto saxophonist/clarinetist Joris Roelofs. Roelofs has played in The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, among others, and currently he lives and works in New York. In recent years, he has been playing regularly with talented guitarist Jesse van Ruller and he has known bassist Clemens van der Feen from his youth. Jesse van Ruller is famous for his unique sound, fabulous technique and beautiful compositions. Bassist Van der Feen is also a valued performer in groups like Harmen Fraanje, Michael Moore and Franz von Chossy. This year, the trio will release its first album entitled Chambertones.
