Chicago blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy grew up with the music of his idol Muddy Waters ingrained in his mind. He has always followed that path conscientiously. That may also be the reason why Guy had to labor for almost forty years before he was truly taken seriously as a musician. Only in 1991 did he break through worldwide with the album Damn Right, I've Got The Blues. It was an unambiguous title and it launched his career. From then on he has played a leading role in the music world alongside other giants like Eric Clapton, BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan. When, at age of 72, his distinctive face decorated the cover of the leading American magazine Rolling Stone, no one begrudged him that honor. However, Guy (now 73) is first and foremost a stage performer; not a publicity seeker.
