Ron Carter is one of the most innovative and original bassists in the history of jazz. The 72-year-old American who has assisted on over 2,500 albums, was for many years a member of the Miles Davis Quintet, and has won no less than two Grammy Awards in his long-standing career. The double bass player, who has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival several times, will bring his very own super trio to Rotterdam this time. On stage in Ahoy, Carter will perform with guitarist Russell Malone (46) and pianist Mulgrew Miller (54). The first used to accompany major artists Diana Krall and Harry Connick Jr., before he founded his own Russel Malone Quartet. Miller used to perform with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw, and is to this day one of the most sought-after studio pianists in the world.
