In recent years, saxophonist Chris Potter has developed at lightning speed into an exceptional band leader. At an early age he had already played on albums of Kenny Werner, the Mingus Big Band, Steve Swallow and Dave Holland. He was also asked by Steely Dan to tour with them. Potter has been recording albums under his own name since 2001. In that year he released his fabulous debut album, Gratitude. Potter is not afraid to cross over to a wider audience and loses none of his identity in the move. He will be performing new works at the North Sea Jazz Festival, especially arranged for tentet. A world première in which Dutch musicians will be joining him on the stage.
