A sixteen-year-old prodigy; singer/pianist Nikki Yanofsky (Montreal, 1994) already performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2006 and made such an impression that she was asked by Verve to perform a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald - the youngest singer ever to do so. Later, she recorded Stompin' at the Savoy with Herbie Hancock and in 2008 her first live CD/DVD was released: Ella… of Thee I Swing. Yanofsky received a number of nominations for this feat. Last January she had the honor of performing during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics: an incredible acknowledgment for such a young talented woman. Her first studio album is due to be released soon. It will simply be called Nikki and will be produced by the famous Phil Ramone. The album will not only contain jazz standards, but also material that Yanofsky has written herself. No doubt we will hear many new songs during her performance, accompanied by her own quartet.
