Timuçin Sahin is being hailed worldwide as a new guitar genius. He plays an instrument that he designed himself, namely a guitar with a double neck: one with six strings and the usual frets, the other fretless and with seven strings. However, he believes the praise he has received is largely due to the musical riches that emerge from his compositions, which are progressive, unique and highly personal. It is for good reason that many regard Sahin as the most original jazz musician of his time. This makes him difficult to categorize, as demonstrated by the flattering responses in 2009 to his latest album Bafa in which he was described as the direct heir of both Coleman and Jimi Hendrix, for example. Those wishing to broaden their musical horizons should not miss Sahin´s performance.
