A trio of greats from the Brazilian music scene. They have different backgrounds but one thing in common: they all link the music of Brazil with jazz. For example, accordionist Toninho Ferragutti from São Paulo, who injects regional elements (choro, forró and gafiera) into the music of today's Brazil. Ferragutti is a highly acclaimed and versatile artist who is not easy to describe. Guitarist Nonato Luiz comes from Lavras da Mangabeira, and began his career as a concert violinist. He later took up a different instrument and entered a new musical domain. Luiz is highly respected in Brazil and he is also well known as a composer and guitarist in Europe. Pianist Tulio Mourão (Divinopolis) has worked with Nonato Luiz for twenty years and he is also well known for his much praised soundtracks.
