Europe's finest jazz trumpeter Eric Vloeimans, has an exceptional talent for quality and originality. As a composer Vloeimans doesn't limit himself to a single style. His music remains fresh and contemporary, but also shows respect for tradition. As one of the few Dutch jazz musicians who is not afraid to demonstrate a beautiful sound, Vloeimans plays with many ensembles, but in the last few years mostly with two formations: Gatecrash and Fugimundi. In the latter, he plays "acoustic chamber jazz" with guitarist Anton Goudsmit and pianist Harmen Fraanje. Their repertoire varies from present-day jazz and hymns to world music and sometimes even a standard. In 2008 they made a successful international tour, during which their wonderful concert in Oakland (US) was recorded as Eric Vloeimans' Fugimundi - Live at Yoshi's. Their music is perhaps a bit sober but always warm, yet at the same time has vastness and a sense of humor.
