With the
Otomo Yoshihide's New Jazz Orchestra you never know exactly what you will get. Sometimes they are invisible like are fined sound installation, the next time, they enter the stage with twenty members. During this festival, the orchestra will perform with a line-up of six musicians. Guitarist Otomo Yoshihide will bring trumpeter Axel Dorner, saxophonist Mats Gustafsson, pianist Cor Fuhler, bassist Mizutani Hiroaki and drummer Yoshigaki Yasuhiro to Rotterdam. Musically, this band is truly able to explore all boundaries: from the repertoire that can be found on the classic album
Out to Lunch by Eric Dolphy, to their own work as on their CD
ONJO. High-level improvisation; that is what Otomo Yoshihide's New Jazz Orchestra excels in.
