The members of
Jazzanova do not believe in sitting still. These German musicians have released no fewer than thirteen albums in the past eight years. Originally this DJ and producers collective from Berlin focused mainly on jazz but over the years they have broadened their horizons to include dance, Latin and trip-hop. They have also remixed numbers of Lenny Kravitz, 4Hero, Calexico and Eddie Gale and Blue Note asked them to contribute a double album to the famous Blue Note Trip album series. At this year's North SeaJazz Festival, the German line-up will for the first time be performing in the Netherlands with a live band. The vocals will be provided by Paul Randolph, Clara Hill and Sebastian John. This gives a face to the anonymity of the turntable mastery of the six Germans, something that Jazzanova needs to break through musically to an even wider audience.
