As a child, Derek Trucks was already a little wonder on two legs. Legend Buddy Guy recognized his enormous talent and started teaching the young Trucks. That was the start of something tremendous. In the States he became known mostly as the guitarist of The Allman Brothers (he is the 'little cousin' of drummer Butch Trucks) and in that time he married the well-knownsinger-songwriter Susan Tedeschi. The Derek Trucks Band, Trucks, who just turned 30, produced seven albums. He is also a regular guitarist in Eric Clapton's band. His characteristic guitar sound can also be heard on the albums of David Sanborn, Buddy Guy and McCoy Tyner. At North Sea Jazz, Trucks will perform with his five-man line-up.
