Bassist and composer
Mario Pavone used to work with legends like Paul Bley, Anthony Braxton and Thomas Chapin. However, this is but a small selection of a virtually endless list of people with whom the American has collaborated in his career as a professional musician, spanning over four decades. After Pavone had seen JohnColtrane at work in 1961, he knew what he wanted to do. Yet it took him until 1967 before he could actually make it happen. After attending Coltrane's funeral, he quit his job as a technician and decided to devote his life to music. Up till 1980, he was the alented bassist alongside Dixon and Bley. Until he joined Thomas Chapin's band. In 1979 he recorded his first album as a bandleader. In 2008, the CDs

Trio Arc appeared. Pavone's percussive style is autonomous and one of a kind. In Rotterdam, his line-up will consist of two tenor saxophonists, a drummer and pianist.
