The
Rare Groove Orchestra was formed in 2003 in The Hague by four men with a preference for homemade rare grooves. For this reason, funk, soul and soul-jazz are the main ingredients and the end result is prepared with thick drum beats, sprinkled with deep basslines and finely cut guitar licks, and served with a substantial touch of the Hammond B3 Organ. The recipe has earned a lot o fapproval, as can be gathered by their performance at EuroJazz in Mexico, for instance. In 2007, their debut album
The Rare Groove Orchestra was released on the Souljazzer label. At the beginning of 2009 the long-awaited second album,
The Man with the Dirty Finger, was brought out, on which during a live performance they give all they've got.
