Even at the age of 87, Jean
Toots Thielemans firmly stands on the highest steps of the ladder of jazz. He still performs all over the world and his characteristic and phenomenal mouth harmonica playing is as powerful as ever. Artistically speaking, he is as always at the top. Thielemans has received tribute upon tribute, these past years. At the festival, he will perform with three famous musicians. He will bring along soulmate Kenny Werner on the piano. Bassist Scott Colley and drummer Antonio Sanchez will share the stage with him as well. His latest album, titled
One More for the Road, was released in 2006 and is filled with duets with contemporary jazz greats. He made a duo album with Werner in 2001.
